I am a second–career teacher.  After graduating from the University of South Carolina Honors College with a degree in Marine Science, I worked at the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) for 7 years.  During this time, I was able to devote myself to public service and environmental protection.  Additionally, I was able to earn a Master’s of Environmental Resource Management. 

I decided that I was needed more in the classroom as a role model and an educator.  I entered the Program of Alternative Certification for Educators (PACE) and began teaching in 2005.
