Text Box: My name is FiFi Means and I am excited to be joining the Sandhills Community this year as your School Counselor. My intention as the school counselor is to provide programs and services to enhance students’ potential for life long success by focusing on the essential skills of self understanding, decision making, goal setting, coping, communicating, and cooperating with others in order to facilitate student achievement and personal growth.
Elementary school is a time when students begin to develop their academic self-concept, and their feelings of competence and confidence as learners. They are beginning to develop decision making skills, as well as communication skills. Relationships with peers become increasingly important and attitudes toward school, self, peers, and family are brought to the forefront. A comprehensive developmental school guidance program will provide the students with developmentally appropriate guidance lessons, a s well as offer students small groups and individual counseling to address specific needs.
