Information for graduates and their families regarding Graduation:

The Coliseum does not allow balloons, large packages, posters, signs, flags, noise makers, horns, bells, etc., food/drink or floral arrangements to be brought in by patrons.

The Coliseum will make announcements on the concourse and in the arena concerning exiting the building so that we may get ready for the following graduation. The coliseum asks the family of graduates to meet their graduate on the Park Street side of the building following the graduation ceremony. They  do not permit graduates to reenter the building after they exit the Elephant Room area.

The coliseum has requested that there be a notice in your programs concerning the saving of seats. They will also make announcements prior to your event to communicate to the audience that there will be no seat saving. Example:  "Please be courteous and allow those who have come early to have their choice of seats. Please do not hold sea ts for those who have not yet arrived. Thank you for your cooperation."

If any families have questions about handicap accessibility please feel free to share my name, email and number with them: Michelle Knight, , 803-777-2555.

Parking at the Carolina Coliseum for Graduation

PARKING FOR GRADUATES

Horizon Garage – Located on Assembly Street across from The Strom Thurmond Wellness Center, graduates are encouraged to park in this lot and walk across the bridges over Assembly and Blossom Streets to get to the Elephant Room on the Park Street side of the Carolina Coliseum.

PARKING FOR ATTENDEES

If you are attending an afternoon graduation, families should take advantage of the express park and shuttle located at the corner of Pendleton and Pickens Streets.  We have noticed that in the afternoon parking places do not turnover as quickly and this results in longer walks to the ceremony.  By using the shuttle service, this will alleviate the parking problem and decrease the frustration level of searching for a parking place.

Parking will be available for attendees in the following USC parking lots and garages:

AD2  - Lot located behind the Carolina Coliseum, surrounded by Park, Devine, L incoln and Blossom Streets. Enter on Devine Street.

AD3 – Lot located in front of the Colonial Center, surrounded by Greene, Lincoln, Devine and Gadsden Streets. You may enter on Greene Street, Devine Street or Gadsden Street.

AD4 – Lot surrounded by Devine, Lincoln, Blossom and Gadsden Streets. You may enter on Devine or Gadsden Streets.

AD5 – Lot located on the corners of Gadsden and Devine Streets. Enter on Gadsden Street.

Discovery Plaza Garage – Newly constructed parking garage on the corner of College and Park Streets behind the USC School of Music.

Pendleton Street Parking Garage – Located on the corner of Pickens and Pendleton Streets. There will be shuttle service picking up at the corner of Pendleton and Pickens Streets and dropping off on Assembly Street in front of the Carolina Coliseum.

Senate Street Garage – Located on the corner of Pickens and Pickens Streets. There will be a shuttle picking up at the corner of Pendleton and Senate Streets and dropping off on Assembly Street in front of the Carolina Coliseum.

HANDICAP PARKING

AD1 – Handicap Assisted Parking – Located behind the Carolina Coliseum, surrounded by Greene, Park, Devine and Lincoln Streets. Enter on Greene or Devine Streets. Individual with special needs that are unable to walk from the parking lots to the Carolina Coliseum will be able to take a tram from this parking lot to the main entrance of the Carolina Coliseum.

Greene Street Lot – Located on the Greene Street side of the Carolina Coliseum, there will be limited handicap parking in this lot. However, if you are transporting individuals in wheelchairs you will be allowed to drop them off in this parking lot and then move your car to one of the lots located behind the Carolina Coliseum.
